My Life Is Yours
Description
Loosely inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, this game presents a pair of lovers, trapped in the underworld, with a mechanism to escape their cruel fate of being separated, level by level. As long as one or the other of them can reach a level's exit, they both progress. However: only one can be moved at a time -- often into a seemingly impassable deathtrap of one variety or another. But where there is defeat, there is also hope: the spark of life flits from one to the other, informed by the nature of the former's demise. If the man falls into a pit of flames, his lady is reborn as a pillar of fire, equipped to melt any such ice barriers as she may encounter. If she dies, tragically asphyxiated in noxious fumes, he comes back alive in a vaporous form, able to hitch a ride on breezes and walk through gratings. To reunite, they may each die a thousand deaths, but their unrequited love will keep them going.
