Nextipede

Nextipede is a version of the arcade classic Centipede. It was the first game to be released on the Spectrum Next and has been included on the Next's distribution SD card ever since. It was designed to test the Next's compatibility with the Timex 8x1 enhanced colour attribute mode.

All the elements from the arcade version are recreated; you control a 'bug buster' that must destroy a centipede moving down the screen towards you through a field of mushrooms. Each segment of the centipede becomes a mushroom when shot and the centipede splits into two pieces at that point. Spiders. snakes and fleas are also trying to impede you and must be avoided or shot.
