NHK Taiga Drama: Taiheiki

The game is an adaptation of NHK's historical drama TV series "Taiga Drama" set in 14th century Japan during the Nanboku-chō period in a war between the Ashikaga shogunate and the Southern Court.

After picking a side in the war, the player controls regiments of foot soldiers, archers and cavalry in hexagonal grid-based areas to conquer all opposition and put a firm foothold across the lands. In typical rock-paper-scissors fashion, certain unit types are better at slaying others (e.g. spearmen easily take down cavalry).
