Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation
Description
Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation is a handheld electronic game, based on the short-lived live-action television series Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation produced by Saban Entertainment. This title is notable for being the only video game adaptation of the series and the sole appearance of the character Venus de Milo—introduced in the show as the fifth Ninja Turtle—in any interactive media.
The game is structured around two alternating gameplay modes: hand-to-hand combat and vehicular navigation using the Mutant Marauder, a turtle-themed hummer. In the combat stages, players face waves of enemies attacking from multiple directions, requiring quick reflexes to defeat them before they reach the player's position. In the driving segments, players must steer the Mutant Marauder to avoid obstacles and evade adversaries on motorcycles, known in-game as Ninja Riders. While these driving levels grant players unlimited lives, they are constrained by a countdown timer, adding pressure to complete the segment swiftly. Gameplay culminates in a final battle against the primary antagonist, the Dragon Lord. Each Turtle rendered in a distinct weapon loadout, though they otherwise share the same visual sprite.
