Phantomas Saga 0: Uprising

Phantomas Saga 0: Uprising is a fangame starring the android thief character from the 1986 game Phantomas. The game consists of four large levels, each with a different theme as enemies. As a bonus the demo level is included as well as a level based on the original ZX Spectrum game visuals.

The original gameplay and design is used. The player guides Phantomas through several single-screen rooms linked both horizontally and vertically to form a large environment explored with some freedom using the flip-screen mechanic. He has no means to attack and can only avoid enemies and hazards. The focus is on careful exploration through platforming. True to the original game, Phantomas has no standing, vertical jump, but always jumps with a slight curve to the left or the right depending on the direction he is facing. To complete a level he needs to locate and activate all switches. He has a large health meter, but energy is drained as long as he collides with an enemy or a hazard. Every now and then a pick-up can be found that restores some energy. There is no fall damage.

After completing a level a password is provided to start there right away in a next game.
