Phoenix Lair

Phoenix Lair is a 1-player arcade game for the 8-bit Atari.

The player controls a phoenix, who can fly and flap their way through levels. The player tries to collect all eggs in a level, and fly back to their starting perch. If they touch a wall, or the edge of the screen, they lose a life. Two local Pharis villains pursue the Phoenix at higher levels. The player starts with 5 birds, can choose from 5 speed levels, and there are 10 levels in total.

In between levels, the player enters a game of jousting against the Pharis Hailex, principal knight of the Kingdom of Pharis. Success in unseating the knight without hitting the mount yields the player bonus points.
