PixelCrash

Description
PixelCrash is a free twin-stick shooter with a randomized level design for each session. The story tells how evil dead pixels have taken over the colour palette and the player's character, the last remaining pixel, is the only hope. A level path consists of a series of single-screen rooms based on a different colour and strung together into a lay-out displayed as a map in the top right corner of the game. To progress to a new part the entire screen needs to be cleared of enemies. The player's character can freely move around and shoot in any direction. At the end of the game there is a multi-stage final boss.
There are a number of roguelike elements such as randomized levels and enemies, permadeath after losing all lives, a different gear lay-out for every session based on life upgrades and up to eight passive equipment upgrades not carried over between sessions. Energy and the life bar are restored by picking up drops of defeated enemies. At any moment it is possible to switch between three forms of the character: red, green and blue, each with their own active and passive bonuses. The red form provides increased damage and a higher rate of fire or exploding bullets. In the green form speed is increased and time is slowed down. In the blue mode more damage can be sustained and there is a force shield.
