PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD is a tower defense strategy game. It is a new version of the game based on the content of previous releases. It has the Tiki Island levels from the original 2008 PS3 game PixelJunk Monsters, the Toki Island levels and the seed based randomly generated levels from the 2008 DLC PixelJunk Monsters Encore, and the Gati Gati Island levels and additional challenges from the 2010 PSP version PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, all reworked into a single game. The visuals have been redesigned into high definition, but the core gameplay and content is untouched.

For the PC this is the first release of the game for the platform. For the PS Vita the PSP game PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe was made compatible with the Vita in 2012, but this is the first version of the game natively developed for the platform. It supports the touch screen for input for instance. All platforms support cooperative multiplayer games, either offline / local or online. In online games it is not possible to chat directly with the other player. Instead the game uses a TikiSpeak ring menu where glyph symbols can be used to construct sentences to communicate. The PC version has in-game video capture functionality and a direct connection to YouTube to upload, play and delete gameplay videos.
