PlanetSide 2

PlanetSide 2 is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter that delivers combat on a large scale with up to 2,000 players in a single conflict. It is a re-imagening of the original PlanetSide game. Battles take place with air and ground vehicles slugging it out alongside squads of troops. Whether in open fields, tightly packed urban centers or enormous structures, planning, teamwork and communication are essential. The game features continent maps with dozens of square kilometers of seamless gameplay space. Landmass has intrinsic value as the meta game is about territorial control of a continent split up into different sectors.

The game has a day-and-night cycle that influences the warfare, and soldiers can sprint, use iron sight and access regenerating shields. By gaining experience (battle rank) additional skills can be unlocked through certification points. There are three factions (Terran Republic, New Conglomerate and Vanu Sovereignty) with classes such as Light Assault, Heavy Assault, Medic, Engineer, Infiltrator and Mechanized Assault Exo-Suit. Players can switch classes and there is an overall skill progression, not tied to a specific class.

The premium part of the game allows player to purchase convenience items and cosmetic changes with real cash. Optionally a subscription can be purchased for additional advantages.
