Plasma Warrior

Description
Something has gone wrong at a far-flung future archaeological dig; a Plasma Warrior has been called in to clean up the site, and you are that military robot's operator, directing its runs, jumps and shots through the craters, mine shafts and alien pyramids of a gloriously retro minimalist 7-colour chiptune planetscape evocative of Monuments of Mars and especially Metroid.
You'll face down a number of different types of alien bad guys with powers such as dropping corrosive acid on you or reflecting your shots back at you with their shells; to even the odds you bolster your stock directional fire (shades of Abuse, though without the mouse control) with various power-ups located in the mine -- auto-fire, a jump boost, double-shot, and a pulse-shot that packs such a punch it actually propels you up off the ground when fired down (as in Astro Robo Sasa).
Traversing enemy-filled rooms (respawning every time you leave the screen) in pursuit of keycards to enable the use of warpgates, your progress will be maintained courtesy of health bonuses sporadically dropped by slain enemies and save points scattered here and there.
