Plateau of the Past

Plateau of the Past is a graphic adventure with the TRS-80 CoCo.

The player's goal is to follow a winding branching trail through dangerous jungle to safely reach civilization. At the beginning of each adventure, the player rolls for stamina, fate, and ability points. The player also gets to choose from 8 of 20 possible survival items to start their adventure. The player's movement is shown on a small map with a dotted line showing possible trails. At every intersection, the player must choose which direction to travel. A number of dangers appear as the player travels, and these can be avoided by specific items, or simply rolling for fate points. If the player rolls poorly, they can lose stamina or be instantly killed by the dangers of the jungle. Further, if stamina falls to 0 the player perishes. Fate and ability points can also be lost by actions. Certain encounters enter the player into combat, where the player and enemy take turns rolling for damage.
