Programming Proverbs

Description

Programming Proverbs is a book which outlines rules to improve the structure and readability of written code. The book was initially released with examples for programming languages such as BASIC, ALGOL 60, FORTRAN, COBOL and PL&I, but later editions were also released focusing solely on BASIC or PASCAL. The book contains one fully written game as an example: Kriegspiel Checkers. A checkers game in which two players play a variant of the traditional board game. The game plays mostly like normal checkers game except each player can only see their own pieces. The game is won either because of the normal checkers win conditions or because a player kinged one of the pieces by reaching the other side. The computer works a referee telling players whether their proposed moves are legal.
