Qixi Festival / Chilseok

This Google Doodle honors the Qixi (or Qiqiao) Festival, a celebration held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the Chinese calendar. It celebrates the legend of two lovers, a shepherd and a weaver, separated by a silver river: the Milky Way. In the story, magpies created a bridge over the river so the couple could be reunited. This game recreates that part of the legend, requiring players to click and drag on birds flying across the screen and drag them into place to create a bridge. There are three levels of increasing complexity; starting on the second level the birds will fly away after a certain amount of time, putting the lovers at risk of falling in the water.
