Race for the Galaxy AI

Description

Race for the Galaxy AI is a computer implementation of the card game Race for the Galaxy, released as open source with permission from Rio Grande Games who published the card game. In this game, each player is attempting to build the best galactic empire as quickly as possible by playing cards. During a turn, each player secretly selects an action. All players perform the actions selected by other players, but receive a bonus for the action they themselves selected. Cards added to a player's tableau can also provide bonuses during various phases of a turn, as well as score points. The game ends when all of the point tokens have been taken or when one player has 12 cards in their tableau, so it is often advantageous to control the pace of the game rather than getting a big score.

Race for the Galaxy AI allows the player to compete against other human opponents over the Internet, play against AI opponents, or both. It supports all of the expansions for Race for the Galaxy, however it is not possible to play using the Alien Orb in Alien Artifacts. Any number of players supported by the base and expansions can be used. There is also a campaign mode that allows the player to start with a preset starting world, hand, and opponent.
