Ramiro el vampiro: en el Misterio del Papiro is the fourth game in the series starring the vampire Ramiro. In this title the vampire spends some time with his dear friend Ramón the Pharaoh in the ancient palace of Abu Cimbrel in the province of Badajoz. Ramón tells him about a mysterious papyrus hidden in the Pyramid of Example. It is said to be written by Aton, the Sun god. Ramiro decides to go after the papyrus as he hopes it will let him control the sun and create a "portable night" so he no longer has to fear the light.
Playing as Ramiro in the pyramid the player has to collect the four pieces of papyrus and hand them to Ramón. The pieces cannot be found directly, Ramiro needs to collect coins and donate them at a shrine. In exchange he will receive several items he can use in other locations to get pieces of the paper. The environment consists of several single, fixed screens linked together horizontally and vertically that can be explored freely. There are various hazards and enemies. Ramiro cannot attack and has to avoid them. He has a limited amount of health. There is also a dangerous Eye where Ramiro can only pass when it is closed.
