Ratatan

Description
Ratatan is a rhythm-based roguelike action game. Announced as a spiritual successor to Patapon, it merges side-scrolling action with music-driven mechanics and supports online cooperative play for up to four players. The game features battles involving more than one hundred on-screen characters, blending large-scale skirmishes with precise timing challenges set to an upbeat soundtrack.
Players guide Ratatans, small animal-like creatures, across 2D environments by issuing commands in rhythm with the music. Accurate timing directs Cobuns, allied units, to attack, defend, or reposition, while situational awareness is needed to decide when to advance or retreat. There are roguelike elements through procedural generation.
The story is set on Rataport, an island where Ratatans live harmoniously while sharing a dream of reaching the mythical Everafter and meeting its resident deity, the Goddess. Players accompany them on this quest, guiding their efforts despite inevitable setbacks.
