Raven

Description
Raven is a DVD game based on BBC Scotland's TV show which ran from 2002 to 2010 in the UK and which was later revived for a short run in 2017 to 2018.
The original TV show was hosted by James Mackenzie who presents this DVD. In the show a group of children faced a series of tasks to become 'The Ultimate Warrior' and the game follows a similar format.
The game can be played as a single player game or as a multiplayer game for two, three or four players. In the multi player game each player is asked two questions to determine their spirit character whereas in the single player game the player simply chooses between the two characters offered.
Once the characters have been chosen the next step is to choose a route. There are three routes to choose from;
- The Path Of The Demon: Four levels. Difficulty level three
- The Path Of The Wizard: Six levels. Difficulty level six
- The Path Of Nevar: Eight levels. Difficulty level nine.
Each path consists of a number of mini games and puzzles. Players start with a number of feathers which are effectively lives because when they are all lost the game is over. Players receive gold rings as a reward for successfully completing a task and seven of these rings can be used to buy back one feather, in some tasks there are additional rings that can be discovered and added to the player's total.
In the multiplayer game the players arrive at a mini game and play it in turns but each game can be slightly different. For example in the mini game Burning Battlements player one completes their turn, then player two and so on whereas in the game Demon Square a question is asked and the players take turns to answer it, then the next question is asked until all questions have been asked.
Some of the mini games are:
- Enchanted Stream: To win two gold rings the player must reassemble a broken bridge by clicking on a selection of pieces in the correct order.
- Spider Tunnel: There the player has to navigate a maze, collect gold rings and avoid spiders.
- Demon Causeway: The player and the demon move alternately and the objective is to cross a grid without being caught. The reward is one gold ring but there are other rings hidden under the tiles of the grid.
- Riddle Bridge: After the magic book has read a riddle the player is presented with a bridge of letters, the task is to select the correct letters from each step of the bridge and get to the other side by completing the word that answers the riddle.
- Demon Square: The Wisdom Tree asks a series of questions to which the answers are either True or False. For each correct answer the player advances one square. Two incorrect answers ends the game
- Serpent's Eye: This is a shooting game where the player has three attempts to hit a target
- Burning Battlements: The player uses a siege catapult to douse three fires with water bombs
- Dwarf Mine: This is a memory game. The player is shown four symbols before they enter the mine. These symbols are on props which must be removed in order to go deeper in the mine, removing the wrong props will cause the roof to collapse. >br> - Way of the Warrior: This is the final game where the player has to navigate a path and avoid traps. There are three stages to complete and if successful the player will enter the portal to the Last Stand.
