Reading Adventures in Oz

Reading Adventures in Oz is an educational game for teaching reading-related skills. Dorothy and her friends are in the land of Oz. The Wizard of Oz has promised them a special wish if they can collect enough words. So, they will travel the land of Oz in search of the words he wants.

The gameplay in most screens consists of an assignment, which could be something like "bring me a word beginning in S", or it could be something that requires more thought. In either case, the player will need to select an item in question, then move the word this creates to the bag that the words are kept in. There are also subscreens where the player will be shown a scene, and asked to select the correct word out of three options. For example, a princess and a dragon are in a pit, and the player is asked to select the word that will get the princess out of the pit. There are four characters, and three difficulty levels. (Pre-readers, early readers, and advanced readers.). Available screens are selected at random for each play-through.
