Retrobot

The year is 2025, and humanity has put a lot of commonplace tasks in the hands of automated robots. Retrobot for example, was built by the 32 year old socially-handicapped Spencer, to play video games with him. When a server crash happens, an army of robots takes control of the world and kidnaps Spencer. Retrobot sets out on a quest to find his creator, accompanied by Spencer's pet monkey Toto.

Retrobot is a side-scrolling shooter in which the player controls this robot. As he wheels forward automatically, a slider in the bottom left of the screen is used to move left or right more rapidly. Firing his arm-mounted cannon and changing the shooting direction is done by using a half-circle slider in the bottom right of the screen. The campaign mode features nine levels, between which the story is unfold through comic book-style cutscenes, divided over five worlds.
