Richard Hammond's Top Gear Stunt Challenge

Richard Hammond's Top Gear Stunt Challenge is a one or two player game, or as the game puts it 'Billy No Mates' and 'Head to Head', and it is a series of silly mini games with lots of video clips rather than the usual DVD quiz. The game invites players to select a team from Team Hammond; Team May; Team Clarkson and Team Stig and then the games begin. The game keeps score and everything is explained by Richard Hammond, the challenges are;

• The Let's Not Blow Up Richard Hammond game: There are five white vans lined up on the Top Gear runway. Richard hides in one of them and one team attempts to blow up the empty vans. In preparation for this round the teams bid for how many empty vans they think they can blow up, the team that loses out in the bidding secretly selects the van Richard will be in.

Points are awarded for selecting the chosen number of empty vans and not blowing up Richard, points are lost if Richard is toasted.

• Crock And Roll: 30 Years Of Top Gear. Here Richard shows a TV clip from an old Top Gear episode and the team/player has a limited time in which to guess the year. If they fail to answer within the time limit additional clues are given but the number of points is reduced. Teams answer questions alternately.

• Dashboard Reference: This is a spot the difference round where teams take turns to answer. A dashboard is shown for a short time, fifteen seconds or thereabouts, and then there is an interval where Richard does something like driving an off-road car in a race with a motor bike - a clever distraction to wipe the image of the dashboard from the players' minds, after which the dashboard is shown once again but something subtle will have changed.

• Skittle Powersliding: The Stig powerslides one of fifteen cars round a corner and attempts to knock over man-sized skittles in the process. Teams are shown some basic statistics about the car being used and guess how many skittles will be knocked over.

• Bunch Of Stunts: This is a multiple choice quiz round where the questions are based on Top Gear stunts.
  For example Top Gear once featured a race between a Bugatti Veron and a Eurofighter, the question asked is "The Bugatti's top speed is 252mph. What is the Eurofighter's?

• Carabungee: This starts with a caravan suspended from a crane by bungee rope(s). When dropped the caravan falls to earth but stops well before it hits the earth. Teams take turns to add domestic objects ranging from a safe to a microwave in an attempt to get the caravan to fall further without hitting the ground.

• The Golden Anorak: This is billed as the quiz bit for geeks, teams take turns to answer ten questions. Example questions are;

  • This car weighs xxxx kg, does this car weigh more or less?
  • As above but substitute cost for weight
  • Where is this car built?
  • In which film does the featured car stunt appear?
