Robin of Sherwood

Robin of Sherwood is a 1-player action game for the BBC Micro.

Robin Hood must guide his band of outlaws across a swamp and a moat while avoiding archers, and then scale the walls of a castle while avoiding spears, rocks, and trap doors. The player can move in all directions and can move fast or slow.

In the first section, the player must avoid water, trees, and arrows being shot by an archer on the right of the screen. The archer moves up and down to align with the player. The player loses a life if they are shot by an arrow or fall in the water, and the location of bridges and trees are randomized each screen.

In the second screen, the player tries to climb a series of ladders and cross platforms, while guards rain spears and rocks onto the player. Holes on the platforms upon and close at random. The player needs to pass both screens four times to conquer the castle.
