S is a real-time multiplayer space combat game for up to 8 players. It is played over a network and hosted by a HP-2000F mainframe at the University of Virginia. The game is written in BASIC and draws inspiration from Star Trek games popular in the early 70s. Players control a spaceship and fly around the galaxy filled with 255 star systems. Players can conquer planets which have a simple economics system and engage in ship-to-ship combat.

The game served as an inspiration for the game MegaWars III.
