Sailors of the Sky

Description
Sailors of the Sky was an on-line aviation game that started out as a glider simulator that had it's first 'final' release in 2003 though it had been available as an on-going development before this. A demo version of the game could be downloaded from the game's website which allowed five minutes of flight and the full release could be ordered on-line to be delivered by CD or download. Each registered user could undertake glider training up to silver standard, join on-line gliding clubs and, when qualified, take part in multiplayer on-line gliding competitions.
The game was expanded and added to over the years leading to version 4.63 (2005) in which the name changed to Sailors of the Sky Gold. Version 5.98 was released in the UK commercially as Glider Simulator even though by this time the game had expanded to include several powered aircraft.
