Sakura no Kumo: Scarlet no Koi

Description

Sakura no Kumo: Scarlet no Koi is a Japanese adult detective-themed visual novel set in 1920s Japan. The protagonist is Tsukasa Kazami, a boy who falls asleep beneath a cherry blossom tree in contemporary Japan, only to awaken in the vibrant streets of Taisho-era Tokyo in 1920. The disoriented Tsukasa soon encounters the enigmatic Chief, a British expatriate managing the Cherry Detective Agency in Ginza, who initially dismisses his claims of time travel but enlists his aid in solving a case, thereby earning her tentative trust.

As Tsukasa integrates into the agency as an assistant, his central objective shifts to resolving the enigma of his displacement—potentially tied to the recurring motif of cherry blossoms—while assisting in a series of interconnected cases involving local intrigue, personal dilemmas, and shadowy figures from the era's underbelly. Through these investigations, he forges bonds with the Chief and her associates, including the refined Tooko Shiraiide, the whimsical Melissa, and the earnest Ren Minakami.

The player makes decisions throughout the game that may cause it to branch into different routes, each one specific to one of the heroines. Tooko and Ren's routes must be completed before Melissa's, which must be completed before the Chief's.

The Windows version includes scenes with sexual content. The console versions omit these scenes, but add new story content featuring two new characters: a little girl who adores Tsukasa, and a high school girl who visits the Cherry Detective Agency. The console version also features a new opening theme song.
