Scurvy Scallywags

In Scurvy Scallywags, the player takes the role of a pirate who travels between islands in search of the Ultimate Sea Shanty. While doing so, he has to solve numerous tile matching puzzles: switching adjacent symbols to create matches of three same which then disappear. The other stones then move in the direction of the last move and new stones appear from that side.

The catch of this game is that the playing character and enemies are also part of the board. When the two meet, combat is automatically initiated and the winner depends on the fighting strengths of both characters. To improve strength, the player has to match sword symbols. Finishing quests gives experience points to improve the pirate's five attributes (influence combat results) and gold is spent for skills like escaping from battle which basically serve as power-ups. However, only five skills can be brought into battle. Other ways to spend money are clothes (improve attributes) and building ships (bonuses on skills). In-app purchases allow to double gold.
