Shootout at Old Tucson
Description
Shootout at Old Tucson is a lightgun shooting game with an Old West theme from American Laser Games, running on 3DO-based hardware. Unlike ALG's earlier games, it does not feature live-action full motion video, but uses static or scrolling digitized photo backgrounds with enemies appearing as overlaid digitized sprites.
One or two players control gunslingers who are tasked with taking out a number of bad guys in locales such as various town houses, a brothel, a train station or a church. Some levels are duels against one or two single characters, and the only side-scrolling stage takes place in the wilderness and has bandits riding on horses. Civilians also appear in some levels and should be spared to avoid losing health. Bundles of dynamite can be shot to clear the screen of enemies while hitting a bull's skull will award bonus points. After each level, a statistic shows shots fired, bad guys and innocents hit, and a ranking.
