Silence of the Siren

Description
Silence of the Siren is a sci-fi/science fantasy turn-based strategy game that borrows many core gameplay formulas from the Heroes of Might and Magic series, specifically from Heroes of Might and Magic III. The player controls commanders (the equivalent of heroes) on the world map, builds up bases and hires units, while combat encounters are played out on battlefields with hexagonal grid-based movement. Magic exists in the form of "abilities" that can be used by commanders on the battlefield or on the global map. Instead of days and weeks, in-game time is split into "cycles" and "phases", with visible changes in lighting conditions on the world map. There are various new features, such as the commanders' ability to construct buildings on the map, or upgradeable resource buildings on the map.
The story is set in the Siren star system, where tensions between different factions rise as an inter-species galactic alliance crumbles. Meanwhile, ruins of a lost ancient civilization promise riches but also may contain a hidden menace. The playable factions include the Fossorians, a group of anthropomorphic (and militaristic) moles, rats and other subterranean creatures; the Children of the Source, a religious cult of cybernetic insects; and The Sovereign Fleet, which is a band of rag-tag human pirates.
