Sōkoban
Description
Before the seminal box-pushing puzzler was brought to the west by Tetris localizer Spectrum Holobyte, Sōkoban was released exclusively to Japanese 8-bit microcomputers in a bare-bones format with 20 levels, limited attempts, and no visual level editor apart from editing the BASIC code directly. This version has a surprise for players familiar with the ruleset established by later games; levels 11 through 20 feature demolishable walls which appear as regular ones but are destroyed by approaching from a specific direction.
Additional levels would be published in Shinkigensha's PC Magazine as type-in code.
