Solitaire King: Aces Up
Description
Solitaire King: Aces Up is a freeware, mouse controlled, single player card game, it can be played in a window or in full screen mode.
This title was of a number of freeware games that the developer released to promote interest in the full product Solitaire King which had thirty-one different games and over eighty variations thereof.
The game is played with a standard deck of fifty-two cards four of which are placed face up on the playing area while the remainder of the deck is placed face down. If two or more cards are of the same suit then the lower cards are discarded, if there are a pair of cards of the same rank they are discarded. When no more cards can be discarded four more cards are dealt over the preceding cards building up a column and the process of removing cards is repeated. When a column of cards is empty the player can move any card from the bottom of one of the columns into the space.
The aim of the game is to finish with just four aces, one in each column.
There are two game variations, ‘Idiot's Delight’ where Aces are removed by pair. And ‘Firing Squad’ where pairs are not removed. The game has save/load and undo/redo functions but has no sound and no statistics are kept. It is played entirely with the mouse
