Sonic Adventure: European Sonic Speed Challenge

European Sonic Speed Challenge is event data that could be downloaded to the player's VMU for use in Sonic Adventure. Meant to tie in with a real-world contest that was only available in Europe, it was only available from December 1, 1999 to January 14, 2000, and it adds a new mission for Sonic. Reebok DMX signs are added to the front of the Station Square Hotel, as well as floating in the Hotel's pool area. Touching them announces that the Reebok DMX Speed Challenge is open at Emerald Coast. A "START" plate floats in front of the entrance to Emerald Coast, and touching it sets a timer for ten minutes and transports the player to the Action Stage, beginning the Challenge. Only the first part of Emerald Coast is playable from here, and posters for Reebok are added to the Stage. In addition, Reebok DMX shoes themselves can be floating inside Eggman capsules in various locations, five pairs, in both plain sight and hidden, and each must be collected. If the player collects all the shoes and touches the "GOAL!" plate floating at the end of the first part of the Stage, their time is recorded and the player must manually exit the Stage.
