Speel een kaart

Speel een kaart is a card game that adapts the traditional rules of a shedding-type game similar to Crazy Eights. The objective is to be the first player to reach 100 points by strategically discarding cards while playing against the computer.

At the beginning of each match, players receive eight cards. A single card is placed face up, indicating the suit or value that must be followed. Players can place a card of the same suit or the same value; for example, the Six of Hearts can be played on the Nine of Hearts, or the Six of Clubs can be played on the Six of Hearts. Special cards, such as the Jack, allow players to choose a new suit in which the game continues.

Turns alternate between the player and the computer opponent. If a player cannot play a valid card, they must draw one from the deck. The round continues until one player empties their hand, and points are tallied toward the winning score of 100.

The game is entirely keyboard-controlled. Cards are selected by pressing the corresponding number or letter displayed beneath them, while drawing a new card is done with the spacebar. Additional options, such as quitting during play, are accessible via function keys.
