Stahlfeder: Tekkō Hikūdan

Stahlfeder: Tekkō Hikūdan is a vertically scrolling shooter where the player assumes the role of one of four pilots in prototype planes, participating in a war in a fictional setting.

There are three difficulty levels available. At the beginning, the player chooses a pilot, each having their own plane with varying abilities, such as speed. Each plane has two different shot types and a limited supply of screen-clearing bombs. Instead of lives, there is a shield system, which allows the player to survive a few attacks. If the shield is depleted, one of the limited credits must be used to continue. Once they are depleted, the game ends.

There are six stages in the game, each with a boss fight at the end. During the stages, item containers can be picked up that contain weapon upgrades or refill the shield, or the bombs.
