Starplod

Starplod is a graphic adventure set in space. The player's character wakes up aboard Space Base, a vast space ship that was launched by the Galactic Federation (Gal-Fed). That ship was launched in 2088 with ten thousand colonists following the effects of global warning and pollution on Earth. When the characters wakes, two million years have passed and the ship is in a solar system abandoned by Gal-Fed and under control by pirates. Something has gone wrong during the journey, as the ship lost its backup supply of Moronium fuel and only a few days of fuel is left. On top of that the life support systems generator was damaged.

This problem can only be remedied by locating a precious mineral. The player's character is sent away from the Space Bass in a small exploratory craft, navigating planets and then landing to complete the task. The entire game is icon controlled with about 20 different actions covering movement, but also examination and item management. The icons are shown in a large row near the bottom of the screen. The top left part shows the current location. A top right part shows the available exits from the current location, interesting elements and what the character is holding. Below a large rectangle provides text descriptions of the environments and feedback on actions.
