Tamagotchi On: Fairy

Tamagotchi On is an update to the famous Tamagotchi series of virtual pets that adds in Bluetooth connectivity so the creature can now communicate with the corresponding app on a smartphone. The device, like all Tamagotchi units, is shaped like an egg, albeit larger than previous units at 2.5 inches tall with a 2.25-inch color screen. The user will hatch an egg and raise the young My Tama to adulthood by feeding it, showing it affection and playing mini-games with it. There are in-universe places for the My Tama to visit like a park and the store, where more items for the creature's house can be purchased. As the player interacts with the game in various ways, more locations can be unlocked.

The unit can connect to other Tamagotchi On devices in its immediate vicinity via an infrared sensor at the top; one creature can visit another for a friendly playdate, or the two creatures can mate to create an entire new My Tama with traits of both its parents. This creature can also be bred and so on to create successive generations.

The "Fairy" unit has a special land with a fairy theme that the My Tama can visit, as well as two characters exclusive to the version that the player's My Tama can befriend or marry. To unlock it the player must set a particular background (Dreamy Living) and take their third-generation creature outside between 7am and 7:59am. The Fairy theme comes in pink and blue shells, but the units are otherwise identical.
