Tap Sports Baseball '16

Tap Sports Baseball '16 is the third game in the Tap Sports Baseball series. The basic gameplay is the same as in previous iterations with the player solely in control of the batters. Controls are simple as all the player has to do is tap the screen at the right time to hit the ball. Matches are asynchronous and played against other humans online. By winning matches the player progress through the divisions. This version of the game increases the number of divisions to 24 compared to twelve in the last one.

The main new feature in this edition of the game is the addition of clubs. Clubs are made available once the player reaches the second division (novice) and are groups of up to twenty players who can work together. Clubs compete in events which appear weekly. For each week there are four minor events taking place Monday through Thursday and one major event during the weekend. During each event the club members earn points by participating in various activities such as leagues and tournaments.

Other new features are trade offers, investments and collections. Trade offers are time limited and allow the player to trade three inactive squad player for one of a higher quality. When starting a trade there is a timed negotiation that must be awaited. When the timer reaches zero the player gets to know if the trade has succeeded or failed. Investments allow the player to spend real money on stadiums and endorsements. When these are active they will generate gold. Collections can be used to redeem an elite player by collecting trophies and rookie players.
