Tassurus 3012

Description

Tessarus 3012 is a top-down shooter set in a robots training facility. The basics are simple: each randomly generated level is filled with eight teleport stations, walls and robots which try to kill the player. The goal is to reach a portal to enter the next level. However, killing all robots first has its advantages: after two levels were cleared, one of the portals in the next level is red. Entering it leads to a gauntlet level where the player is faced with a number of high-level enemies; reaching the exit rewards a weapon upgrade (first a second weapon of the same type, then a better weapon which does more damage).

While the regular robots can be killed with one hit, better weapons are useful for the mines which are deployed when the player takes too long: they are fast and can take more damage. Another game mechanic are beacons: these control if the associated wall is active or not. This can also be useful because appearing walls harm enemies (the player is immune).

After dying (takes just one hit), the player loses a life and earned weapon upgrades and is placed in the next level. While there is no explicit time limit for levels, eventually an invincible mine is deployed which beelines to the player. The overall goal is earning enough points for the high-score list; all 5000 points an additional life is rewarded.
