The 39 Steps

The 39 Steps is an interactive adaptation of John Buchan's classic man-on-the-run novel. The player follows Richard Hannay as he unexpectedly finds himself thrown into a conspiracy with global repercussions. Now forced to go on the run for a murder he didn't commit, he must attempt to solve the mystery of the Thirty-Nine Steps before it's too late. The game is largely played as a visual novel where the literary text is enhanced with visual elements, animation, voice-acting, storytelling techniques and mechanics. There are also small puzzles involving notebooks or drawing lines to open doors.
