The Bach Companion
Description
The Bach Companion is a add-on product to boxed sets of audio CDs issued by the French record label from Arles, Harmonia Mundi. Needing no installation at all, The Bach Companion introduces to the Bach "musical universe": the composer (his life, family), the European and German contexts, Baroque music (organ music, secular versus sacred music) and so on. This reference part of the media is enhanced with interactive experiments: listen to music in the auditorium, or use a composing machine. The latter lets you compose a canon, harmonise a choral or write an exposition of a fugue.
The "Play Bach" provides four games:
- The "Bach Quiz" to makes sure the player knows everything about Bach.
- Another game lets them find the pair of musical extracts by matching them.
- With the "Game of Composers" players listen to works and try to recognize/guess which one is by Bach.
- In the "Aria Memory" game, players try to discover the name of a Bach aria.
