The Big Elk
Description
The Big Elk is a shooter played from a bird's-eye view. Movement is done with with WASD keys and aiming with the mouse. The game has a humorous tone. You play a moose-like animal and must shoot all kinds of strange forest invaders, like Christmas trees, penguins, jello plates, and more, while avoiding their bullets and other traps. In some levels, you can switch your weapon. There is a carrot launcher and a bouncing fireball shooter or you can pick up a backpack type. One can be activated for healing, another for ammo refilling and yet another leaves landmines.
The game also has some strategy elements. If you have enough money, you can use a friendly rabbit to build structures around the level. These include defensive towers, ammo refilling stations, health refilling stations, and a few others.
The game consists of about ten zones, each containing about a dozen short consecutive levels. There are no checkpoints inside the levels. If you die, you have to restart the whole zone.
