The Brain Game

Description

The Brain Game is an interactive game for your DVD player. Two to four players take turns to answer questions or mathematical equations. Every round, the player with the least points drops out. All input is done via the remote control.

Each game consists of five rounds with twelve questions in total;* Round One: Brain Teasers - This round consists of three questions each worth three points

  • Round Two: This is a 'Brain Buster' round with three timed questions worth five points each
  • Round Three: This is a 'Speed Round', there is only one question and it is worth 20 points
  • Round 4: This is another 'Brain Buster' round but now each of the three questions are worth eight points
  • Round 5: The 'Bonus Round', There are only two questions here and each is worth sixteen points.

The format for all rounds is the same, after a 3-2-1 countdown a question is asked, the game waits - the length of time varies with the round being played, then the players are told that the time is up and they should press the button on their remote to see the answer. This process is repeated until the end of the round when the game shows a summary of the answers, the next round begins when the player(s) press the remote button.

At the end of the game the players add up their scores and are presented with a screen showing 'the evolutionary age of their brain', a score of 0 equates to a pet rock while a score of 41 - 60 equates to a monkey etc.

There are twenty-one separate games to choose from plus a tutorial which shows examples of the kind of games the player(s) will encounter. Puzzles include maze, Sudoku, mental arithmetic, pattern recognition and logic examples

Though the game is voiced by a celebrity presenter they are never seen on-screen. The total time for a quiz is around fifteen minutes.
