The Chess Player
Description
The Chess Player is an adaptation of the classic game of chess. While the gameplay is a straightforward adaptation the game contains an extensive futuristic story about an alien being called The Chess Player.
The game supports both regular games and analysing games. There are five difficulty levels for the AI opponent:
- easy: reply in 7 seconds
- reasonable: reply in 50 seconds
- above average: reply in 3 or 4 minutes
- good: reply in 6 minutes
- very strong: up to 6 hours
Illegal moves are warned against and castling is supported. The pieces are moved using commands. Other commands include the ability to print all moves so far, copy the current board onto the printer, save the game, resign and change sides or level.
