The Council: Episode 4 - Burning Bridge
Description
Louis de Richet came to Lord Mortimer's island in search of his missing mother, Sarah de Richet. There, he found more mysteries then he could ever have imagined. Upon finding his mother, she convinced him that Lord Mortimer is in fact a demon who has been living on this world and reshaping it by scheming for centuries. Louis and Sarah entered the catacombs beneath the maze garden and found an entrance into the inner sanctum where Lord Mortimer holds various relics he has gathered through centuries. One of those is a sacred lance that pierced the side of Christ and due to having a blood of Christ is also capable of killing a demon, namely Mortimer.
Whether Louis lost his hand the same way his mother did is based on events from previous episode where Louis had to adjust all the puzzle circles to disarm the trap before heading deeper into the catacombs. In order to find the real holy lance, Louis has to look for clues among the scripts, paintings, and people in the manor. Convinced, as much as he could believe, that Mortimer is a demon, Louis goes to face him only to find Lord Mortimer admitting plainly that he is a demon. Furthermore, he tells Louis that he is a demon as well, and none other then Lord Mortimer's son, and that he should ask Sarah, who is not his real mother, if he doesn't believe Mortimer.
Gameplay is largely similar to that in previous episodes with all the upgraded skills, and choices are passed to this episode. New skill available to Louis is a demonic skill of being able to read people's minds. As the story progresses, Louis masters other demonic skills as well, such as being able to possess another person. However, using demonic skills against other demons will be noticed by those demons and is ill advised to use it against them. Besides Mortimer, Holm is also a demon, and Lord Mortimer's brother. The two of them has been at each other's throat and disagreed about various things for centuries. Louis has to choose who he wishes to ally with and who he wishes to trust, all the while coming to terms with his new powers and uncovered facts.
