The Evil Within 2

Description
The Evil Within 2 is a single-player survival horror game. The story follows Sebastian Castellanos, a former detective haunted by the events of the first game, The Evil Within. Years after his ordeal inside the STEM system, he has lost his career, his family, and his sense of purpose. When he learns that his daughter Lily, thought to be dead, is alive and being used as the “Core” to stabilize a new artificial town called Union, he seizes the chance to save her. To do so, he must once again enter STEM, a virtual construct controlled by the secretive Mobius organization, and confront the horrors that inhabit it.
Gameplay combines exploration, stealth, and combat within semi-open world environments. Players move through different districts of Union, scavenging for supplies, avoiding traps, and confronting grotesque enemies. Ammunition and healing items are scarce, making careful planning vital. Combat can be approached directly with firearms, melee attacks, and explosives, or through stealth, which allows enemies to be eliminated quietly and resources to be conserved.
Progression relies on both skill upgrades and resource management. Sebastian collects Green Gel, which can be spent at safe rooms to unlock new abilities across several branches such as health, stealth, combat, and recovery. Weapons can be improved by finding parts and crafting materials, which are also used to produce ammunition.
Inventory management is handled through a quick-access wheel and a pause-based crafting system. Players can combine materials in the field, but doing so outside safe areas consumes time that leaves Sebastian vulnerable. A variety of weapons, from pistols and shotguns to crossbows with different bolt types, allow flexible approaches to enemy encounters. Collectibles hidden throughout the world provide additional background on Union and its inhabitants. Safe houses scattered around the map act as checkpoints where Sebastian can heal, craft, and upgrade.
