The Manipulator

The Manipulator is a platform game where the player is contracted by the government to enter a facility and destroy it. He has special abilities that allow him to manipulate the environment, objects and people. This allows him to take over other people, read their minds, control robots and more. This technique is used as the major gameplay element to solve puzzles. That way, inaccessible areas can be reached, buttons can be found and by reading minds he is able to find the location of keys or the password for certain doors. Certain enemies can jump higher, fly or use bullets that tranquillize opponents. After taking over someone, it is possible to destroy them or to return to the former presence.

The game takes place in five sectors (each marked with a different colour) split up in four areas per sector. In-between each stage comments from the facility commander are shown. The game uses flashy graphics and echo movement, where all items on the screen appear to tremble slightly and the outlines of past actions are still shown. There is an unlimited amount of tries when dying and two different possible endings.
