The Other Hand: Escape Room

The Other Hand: Escape Room is a Cheetos-themed, augmented-reality escape room played on a mobile browser. The player is "trapped" inside Chester the Cheetah's cabin, and must locate three objects inside the the room and solve their respective puzzles.

The game begins by having the player memorize a visual pattern of "knocks" printed on the "door" of the cabin. Once they successfully recreate the pattern, they then find themselves inside the cabin, represented as a virtual 3D environment. To look around the room, the player must physically move their phone.

Inside the cabin, players will locate three items inside the cabin, each of which opens up a different puzzle for the player to complete. One is a tile placement puzzle, in the second they have to stop a vertically-moving bar between two lines, and the third puzzle involves drawing lines between different points on a grid without crossing other lines.

Once all puzzles have been finished, the player is rewarded with a "dancing Chester" animation that they can place inside their room via AR.

The game can only be played on a mobile browser as it requires use of a back phone camera; accessing the page on a desktop results in the player only being shown the QR code to capture with their phone camera to play on a mobile device instead.
