The Quest for the Holy Grail

Description
The Quest for the Holy Grail is a text adventure for the Apple II.
Loosely based upon Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the player must explore seven monasteries spread throughout Britain, Scotland, and Wales in search of the legendary Holy Grail. The player has statistics of bravery, fame, wisdom, and virtue. If the player has sufficient funds, they can recruit a barber, minstrel, friar, and jester, whom will help the player with different challenges through the game. The barber who is an expert at blood-letting can help with combat, while the friar will allow free access to monasteries.
On the way to each monastery, the player must travel through the woods, encountering killer rabbits, dragons, man-eating trees, and cesspools. The player can challenge these in combat, with victory randomized based upon the player's statistics. The player can also encounter maidens and taverns in their exploration of the woods.
In the monasteries, the player can visit the great hall, kitchen, chapel, library, or room of penance. The player can explore three areas for each visit to a monastery. The player can search for clues to the location of the Holy Grail in the library, but risks coming across cursed books or other dangers. In the kitchen, the player can gain statistics by eating a hearty meal, but randomly risks burning their hand or violating a local maiden. In the great hall, the player can play dice with monks in hopes of gaining more wealth, but may just become lost. Other areas give chances for gaining or losing virtue. Players also can encounter villains in the monasteries who steal their wealth.
Once the player has determined which chapel holds the Holy Grail, the player can visit the chapel, and if sufficiently virtuous, can gain access to the relic.
