The Spare Set

This storygame takes place in a flashback told over a phone interview to a homelessness charity case worker, reflecting on an average day in the lives of the onetime middle-class mortgage-paying homeowner family being interviewed. Through a mundane framing device of searching through the house one stormy day for missing parts of a costume for a school play, a thousand and one little stories of the family's rich (and once seemingly promising) history are incidentally revealed -- as well as one innocuous letter from the bank announcing a modest increase in interest rates. And from that single point, everything naturally follows -- or, rather, falls apart.
