The Sun at Night
Description
The Sun at Night is a 2D side-scrolling platform game set following an alternate history where Soviet power under the leadership of Stalin has washed away all nations and rules the globe. Now that Stalin is dead there are a few resistance groups, but nothing with a major impact. The main heroine is the space dog Laika. She falls from the sky and Abram Krupin, leader of the resistance movement, see this as an omen and she joins the movement.
The game is released in three parts and has non-linear levels typical of those of the metroidvania genre. Laika wears armor, fights enemies, visits various locations, talks to humans and hacks computers. She has a special cannon, mounted on her armor, and an energy field used as a defense mechanism to turn the enemies' firepower against them. While moving a cursor can be controlled to shoot in any direction regardless of movement. Laika's abilities can be enhanced through a skill tree.
