The Voyage of the Mimi: Maps and Navigation

The Voyage of the Mimi is a series of educational games designed to teach players about navigation at sea.

• Hurricane!: A Hurricane is approaching, and the player must find safety within 5 miles of shore of an island. The player must set their direction, speed, and travel time, and must arrive within 5 miles of the island before time runs out. The player loses if they run ashore.
• Lost at Sea: Using 3 radio signals, the player must triangulate their location on a map to help find their way home in foggy weather
• Pirate's Gold: The player must use the provided longitude and latitude in degrees and minutes to find a pirate treasure on a map. The player gets 100 points for finding the treasure in 1 try, 75 points for 2 tries, and 50 points for 3 tries.
• Rescue Mission: A 1 - 4 player game, where the goal is to find and assist the fishing trawler Pelican, which has caught a whale in its net. Each player gets a limited number of turns per round. In each round, the player can use their direction finder, radar, motor, binoculars, or receive a report on the trawler's location. Using this information, the goal is to locate and rescue the trawler.
