The Wars

The Wars is a single-screen real-time strategy game where the player is tasked with defending their base and destroying the one from the computer-controlled opponent. To do so, they can either build new units or new defensive upgrades for their base by spending money previously earned by defeating enemy forces. Units cannot be controlled directly, instead they march forward and start attacking when they meet an enemy unit or the opponent base.

An important part of the game is the concept of evolution. When reaching a certain threshold of knowledge points, earned by defeating enemy units, the player has the opportunity to advance to a new 'age' with brand new units and base upgrades with much improved statistics. The game starts in the Stone Age and progresses to 5 additional periods roughly representing the Middle Ages, the 17th Century, the Great War, modern times and finally a space-technology-based future.
